Summer Youth Camp Counselor
Part-time, 25 hours/week
Camp dates: June 2 - August 1, 2025
CHRISTUS HWC is looking for Youth Camp Counselors to our team In this role, you will lead, support, engage, and motivate youth (ages 5-12) in our activity programs. As a part of the Youth Program Staff team, you will have the opportunity to help develop youth programs and to lead and mentor program participants.
This is a temporary, part-time position working approximately 25 hours per week.
Shifts will be 8:00am - 5:00pm, 2-3 days/week.
Expected start date for training will be April 4, 2025.
Key Accountabilities
Genuine, jovial attitude and patient demeanor.
Enthusiastically lead and support participants through program activities.
Monitor participants to ensure compliance with rules, prevent accidents, and identify inappropriate behaviors.
Proactively address and deescalate inappropriate behavior.
Provide corrective direction to help participants learn appropriate actions and to make positive behavioral choices.
Work with program coordinator and program staff to plan and coordinate activities.
Maintain, clean and ensure proper use of facilities and equipment.
Supervise children ranging from ages 5 - 12.
Clean up after the children every shift.
Play games and other activities with the children.
Make sure the children are checked in and out by parents.
Nurture sharing, sportsmanship and other social skills.
Escort the children to the playground and ball fields.
Minimum Requirements
Must be at least 16 years old.
Pediatric CPR/AED and First Aid certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, National Safety Council or American Safety & Health Institute required prior to the start of camp. Certification courses may be available on-site.
Robust ability to actively lead and engage youth.
Experience in child care strongly preferred.
Strong verbal communication skills with both children and adults.
Active listing skills and ability to relate to and provide fun, engaging, safe activities for youth of different backgrounds.
Ability to work independently, problem solve, and make decisions with limited supervision.
Ability to be a positive role model for program participants.

Manager on Duty (Weekday Mornings)
CHRISTUS HWC is looking for Shift Manager / Manager on Duty to work on a collaborative team and assist with the fitness center oversight at our client site in Beaumont, TX. In this position, you'll help manage the facility alongside our Management Team. At times, you will serve as the acting manager and will be responsible for the operations of the facility in its entirety including shift accountability.
This position is for opening shifts, Monday-Friday; 4:45am-9am
Serve as manager on duty and be a part of a collaborative team assisting with the facility oversight alongside the Management Team. At times, serves as acting manager, and will be responsible for the operations of the facility in its entirety including shift accountability.
What you'll be doing
Greet, check in, and assist customers. Provide program information services and membership information. Assist front desk team.
Hourly facility walkthrough rounds to assess safety and cleanliness. Periodic inventory check of recreation equipment and merchandise.
Efficiently responds to client and participant requests, comments, or concerns and brings issues to a timely and appropriate resolution. As an emergency situation lead, will manage incidents and complete accident reports as needed.
Maintains and updates participant and facility policies as appropriate. Educates participants on policies and procedures.
Opening and closing duties depending on shift hours.
Helps with all member service desk administration and processes including phones and membership enrollments. Participates in internal programs, special events, and membership drives. Collects membership fees and performs related recordkeeping.

CHRISTUS HWC is looking for Child Care Attendants to join the team at our community client site located in Beaumont, TX. In this position, you will be responsible for safe and fun play with children who are in the facility.
Looking for both part-time and on-call/substitute Child Care Attendants.
Key Accountabilities
Kind, jovial, and patient attitude is a must.
Greeting each parent, interacting with parents, and following up the needs of the child.
Planning of activities for the children and assisting with stimulating and age appropriate games and tasks.
Observe and play with children.
Ensuring that the children in their care are safe and engaged in developmental activities.
Participate in child’s activities: reading, painting, crafts, play.
Sanitize toys and play equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Child/Infant CPR/AED/first aid certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute required.
Knowledge and experience with young children is strongly preferred.
Experience in customer service preferred.
Ability to multi-task as well as work quickly and accurately.
Computer proficiency including at minimum Microsoft Word and Outlook.

Lifeguard (part-time)
Flexible part-time shifts, working up to 25 hours per week
Looking for a fun part-time job as part of an Aquatics Team? CHRISTUS HWC is hiring Lifeguards to join our team in Beaumont, TX.
Responsible for monitoring and ensuring a safe and friendly environment for all of the aquatic facility members and guests.
Key Accountabilities
Monitor and ensure safety and well-being of patrons using the aquatic facilities.
Enforce and explain rules as necessary.
Respond appropriately to any emergency.
Perform chemical testing and documents results for three bodies of water and a hot tub four times a day.
Attend all required staff meetings and training.
Ensure that needs of the aquatic center are being met by folding towels; cleaning; filling water machines; and inspecting the Aquatics Facility to ensure safe environment for members.
Maintain a professional attitude.
Other duties as needed/assigned.
What's required:
Lifeguard & CPR/AED/First Aid certification from American Red Cross (or willingness to obtain certification) required.
Must be at least 16 years old.
Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards.
Be dependable, alert and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner with strong customer service skills.
Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook; and working knowledge of the member management system, databases, and tools.

500-yard swim.
Active, Passive, Submerged rescues.
Spinal injury management in shallow and deep water.

Pool Operations Lead
Part-time (4-10 hours/wk) and on-call (as needed)
Key Accountabilities:
Responsible for monitoring all pool PSI’s /Backwash, change out filters as needed.
Fill up all Chlorinators 2x each week- 3 days spaced.
Will fill in as lifeguard during emergency situations.
Will help Aquatic Director with monthly in services.
Will help upkeep the outdoor pool /clean out skimmer baskets and leaves as needed.
Will assist Aquatic Director with making of the lifeguard schedule each month.
Drain, clean and fill whirlpools when needed.
Take monthly inventory of Chemicals / let Aquatic director know to order.
Other duties as needed/assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years old.
Lifeguard certification from American Red Cross or YMCA.
A high level of emotional maturity.
Sound judgment and decision-making ability.
Strong communication skills.
Proficiency in all skills pertinent to that area.

Membership Representative (on-call)
On-call / substitute, working on an as-needed basis
HWC is looking for a Membership Representative to join the team! In this role you will be key point of contact for the community and members at the client's Health and Wellness Center. You will be responsible for providing assistance and service to clients by answering requests, process, and provide information on membership accounts and services offered.
This is an on-call position covering for regular staff when they are unable to work.
Key Accountabilities:
Provide exceptional customer service to prospective and existing members via face-to-face service, phone, text, and email communication. Building lasting relationships with prospective and current members.
Meeting sales goals and generating leads through prospect, networking, and member referrals.
Promoting and attending facility social events.
Serving as facility ambassador to local businesses, corporations and community members.
May provide leadership presence on the floor to assist with issues that may arise and provide coverage when manager isn’t available.
Conduct tours of the facility and assist members with account changes and requests.

Swim Instructor
Part-time, working up to 20 hours/week
HWC is looking for Swim Instructors to join the Aquatics Team. In this position, you will provide effective and safe swim instruction to adults and children participating in private or small group lessons. You will design individualized programs to meet the participant's interests, abilities, and goals.
Minimum Requirements
Must be at least 17 years old.
Adult & Child CPR/AED/First Aid certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute required before start date.
Must have a strong swim background.
Proficiency in all swim strokes.

Group Class Instructor
Part-time; 1-2 classes/week
CHRISTUS HWC is looking for Group Class Instructors to join the fitness team! In this position you will provide fun, effective and safe group exercise to members participating in the program such as dance, kickboxing, step, boot camp, and circuit.
What you'll need to have
Current group exercise instructor certification from ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NETA or other nationally accredited specialty class certification required.
Adult CPR/AED and First Aid certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute required within 30 days of hire.
2+ years group exercise instruction experience a plus.
