Swim Instructor (part-time)
Are you passionate about teaching water safety and developing strong swimmers? HWC is looking for part-time (up to 15 hours per week). As the Water Safety Instructor, you will teach all students in a logical progression of aquatic development, including the basic knowledge and skills needed for safety in the water as well as advanced swimming techniques in all swimming strokes.
Here is what you will do in this position:
Maintain safety of students at all times by administering and following aquatic center guidelines.
Provide swim instruction based on a logical progression of aquatic development.
Maintain neatness by returning all instructional items to designated storage spaces at the end of class.
Maintain appropriate paperwork including class rosters, swim logs, daily lesson plans, attendance, and course completion cards.
Deliver quality swim lessons by maximizing class time, and being in the water (depending on the class level).
Instructors will be ready to begin 15 minutes before their class starts.
Responsible for attending all in-services and meetings scheduled.
May assist in LTS registration procedures.
Assist in light maintenance of pool area and upkeep of pool house and locker rooms.
May be asked to assist with special programs and fund raisers throughout the facility.
Here are the minimum qualifications of the position:
Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certificate or 2-3 years of experience teaching swim lessons required.
Must possess excellent swimming skills and be able to swim 500 meters using the 5 basic strokes.
Current American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certifications required.
Must be knowledgeable of all Red Cross levels of swimming and be able to communicate them clearly with all swimming students.
Manager on Duty
HWC is looking for a Shift Manager / Manager on Duty to work on a collaborative team and assist with the fitness center oversight at our on-campus site here in Beaumont, TX. In this position, you'll help manage the facility alongside our Management Team. At times, you will serve as the acting manager and will be responsible for the operations of the facility in its entirety including shift accountability.
This is a part-time position working approximately 15 hours/week.
What you'll be doing
Greeting, checking in, and assisting customers. Provide program information services and membership information. Assists front desk team.
Hourly facility walkthrough rounds to assess safety and cleanliness. Periodic inventory checks of recreation equipment and merchandise.
Efficiently responds to client and participant requests, comments, or concerns and brings issues to a timely and appropriate resolution. As an emergency situation lead, will manage incidents and complete accident reports as needed.
Maintains and updates participant and facility policies as appropriate. Educates participants on policies and procedures.
Opening and closing duties depending on shift hours.
Helps with all member service desk administration and processes including phones and membership enrollments. Participates in internal programs, special events, and membership drives. Collects membership fees and performs related recordkeeping.

What you'll need
High school diploma or GED required.
2+ years of in person customer service experience required.
Adult CPR/AED and First Aid certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute required within 90 days of hire. Can train onsite & provide certification courses if needed.

Basic computer and point of sale systems knowledge.

Personal Trainer
HWC is looking for a part-time Personal Trainer Front Desk Attendant to join our team. In this position, you will conduct fitness testing and assessments, advise participants of results, provide one-on-one personal training to members participating in the program, and educate them about the fundamentals of strength and cardiovascular training, as well as the proper and safe use of applicable equipment.
What's Needed:
Current Personal Training certification from an industry recognized and HealthFitness approved provider.
Adult CPR/AED/First Aid certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute required prior to start date.

Membership Representative
HWC is looking for a Membership Representative to join the membership team at our community client site located here in Beaumont, TX. In this position, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our members and guests and communicating information on our programs and services.
What you'll be doing
Assisting front desk staff on an as needed basis. Greeting, checking-in, checking out, and answering phones.
Assisting with needs of members and guest as they pertain to membership.
Taking potential members on tours and answering their questions about the facility.
Making follow up calls regarding membership inquiries and membership calls to potential members and non-attending members.
What you'll need to have
Must be 16 or older.
Adult CPR/AED/First Aid certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute required within 30 days of hire.
Excellent customer services skills, outgoing, motivational and friendly.
Ability to deal with pressure in meeting sales quota.
Excellent listening and verbal communication skills.
Ability to build relationships with members.
Ability to resolve conflicts in a professional, tactful manner.

Group Class Instructor (part-time)
CHRISTUS HWC is looking for Group Class Instructors to join our fitness team! In this position you will provide fun, effective and safe group exercise to members participating in the program such as dance, kickboxing, step, boot camp, and circuit.
Looking for instructors who can teach multiple formats.
What you'll need to have:
Current group exercise instructor certification from ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NETA or other nationally accredited specialty class certification required.
Adult CPR/AED and First Aid certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute required within 30 days of hire.
2+ years group exercise instruction experience a plus.

Lifeguard
CHRISTUS HWC is hiring Lifeguards to join our aquatics team in Beaumont, TX. In this role, you'll be responsible for monitoring and ensuring a safe and friendly environment for all the aquatic facility members and guests. You will also attend staff meetings & training, maintain a professional attitude, and perform other duties as needed/assigned.
What's required:
Lifeguard & CPR/AED/First Aid certification from American Red Cross (or willingness to obtain certification) required.
Must be at least 16 years old.
Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards.
Be dependable, alert and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner with strong customer service skills.
Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook; and working knowledge of the member management system, databases, and tools.

All lifeguards are required to perform a basic lifeguard skill test consisting of:
500-yard swim.
Active, Passive, Submerged rescues.
Spinal injury management in shallow and deep water.
Other various techniques that were learned during the Lifeguard Training Program.
